Phillipe brings to the City of Minneapolis valuable knowledge and expertise in youth development and racial equity policy, in addition to his experiences with direct service and advocacy work in the community. As Mayor Hodges’ senior policy advisor, his policy portfolio included K-12 public education, higher education, youth success, racial equity, and LGBTQ rights. In this role, he remained a steadfast advocate for the Northside by engaging in community work and advising policies that have impacted North Minneapolis in particular, in addition to the rest of the City. Phillipe is the primary coordinator for the local efforts of President Obama’s My Brother’s Keeper Initiative, which focuses on improving the life outcomes of boys and young men of color. For more information about his work throughout the Northside, please check out the “My Love for the Northside” video under the “Issues” heading.
